Jumbangla Desk: Prohibition The High Court has banned Manowar Hossain Dipzal from serving as the election secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association for the period of 2024-26.
The High Court bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Kazi Zeenat Haque passed the order on Monday (May 20).
At the same time, the High Court has ordered an investigation into the irregularities in the election of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association.
On May 15, the defeated general secretary candidate Nasreen Akhter Nipun filed a petition in the High Court seeking the annulment of the 2024-26 election of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association. The writ sought a ban on the Misha-Dipzol-led committee from performing its duties.
Alleging irregularities and rigging in the election, the writ sought directions for the formation of a committee to investigate the incident. Besides, instructions are also sought to announce the new election schedule.
